Comunidad Judia de Cuba / Cuban Jewish Community

Cuba
The Jewish community of Cuba is a small but vibrant community of roughly 1,000 members, most of whom live in Havana. Jewish life on the island began in the early 20th century with the arrival of Sephardic and Ashkenazi immigrants from Europe and the Middle East. Before the 1959 revolution, Cuba had about 15,000 Jews, but most emigrated in the following years. Today, the community maintains several synagogues, cultural and educational programs, and continues to preserve Jewish traditions through strong communal solidarity and support from Jewish communities around the world.
