About Edith de Belleville
Born in Belleville (with Ashkenazi origins), Edith was a lawyer for many years when her passion for Paris led her to university. At 50, she resumed her studies and obtained her Tour Guide license. Inspired by the women who have marked history, she dedicated a book to them, "Belles et Rebelles, à l'ombre des grandes Parisiennes" (Editions du 81). She taught the Jewish Heritage of Paris at the Gustave Eiffel University - Paris - Est Marne - La-Vallée for future tour guides. Also passionate about the Second World War, she wrote her university dissertation on "The restitution of works of art looted from Jews during the Second World War."
