Pesach is coming! This year, we wanted to highlight not just the holiday, but the intense preparation that often comes before the holiday, with a focus on CHAMETZ—literally leavened products which we cannot eat or own on Passover, figuratively the spiritual weights which we might like to get rid of in the year ahead.
What is our Chametz? And what can the process of searching, selling, and burning the Chametz as dictated by Jewish tradition teach us about renewal in this Chag Ha’aviv, this holiday of spring?
Come and join us for an exciting three part series!
Part I: Bedikat (searching for) Chametz: March 22nd at 19:00 (hybrid)
Join us on a journey as we attempt to place a light on the things we want to get rid of
Part II: Mechirat (selling of) Chametz March 29, 19:00 (online only)
Join us as we learn about what it means to ‘own’ and ‘disown’ something in the context of Jewish law
Part III: Biur (burning of) Chametz: April 5, 10AM (in person)
Join Jeremy at the Hillel space as we burn off the last of our remaining chametz, and maybe anything else we want to get rid of, as well!
Looking forward to seeing you!
