About the Talk:
Matan Peretz gives a talk on how he uses comedy as a tool to bring people together, especially after the the blow of October 7th and its treacherous aftermath. Peretz will speak to the connections between the Olim community and native-born Israelis, with his commentary on where he thinks divisions lie and how these groups can build bridges. As comedy is his custom, expect to get his message with jokes along the way.
About The Speaker:
Matan Peretz is a rising star in the world of Israeli stand-up and is also strongly committed to the future of Olim Chadashim in Israel. He frequently speaks on, and works to bridge the gap between Sabras and the Olim community through his comedy, online content (190k followers on instagram) and now in-person at the Sunset Series.
In just a short time, he’s conquered stages throughout the country, selling out nearly every show in every city throughout Israel. Peretz describes his comedy as prickly and sharp. With witty comebacks and a bit of healthy cynicism, Peretz brings an unapologetic attitude to the stage. Peretz attributes his mother’s profession as an English teacher and his early fascination with American pop culture to his excellent command of English.
