These terms might seem to come from entirely different worlds. But appearances can be deceiving. In her latest book, Jessica Roda – an anthropologist and ethnomusicologist from Georgetown University – explores the lives of orthodox Jewish women who transcend the strict boundaries of tradition by engaging in professional artistic endeavors.
