About The Speaker:
Yirmiyahu Danzig AKA "That Semite" is a digital educator, with 53k Instagram followers, and content creator for Unpacked, specializing in Jewish diversity, history, and identity. He served as a squad commander in Magav (the Israeli Border Police) in a unit responsible for counterterrorism operations and peacekeeping in the Old City of Jerusalem and the Temple Mount. Inspired by the lives of his ancestors, those who lived in the Old City of Jerusalem for generations, and those who survived the sugar plantations of the Caribbean, Yirmiyahu is a dedicated educator-activist. He regularly speaks at joint Israeli-Palestinian events with the purpose of navigating competing narratives and aspirations. He lectures Israeli and Diaspora audiences on Jewish identity, diversity, and antisemitism. He also founded Shachar: a community for Caribbean, African American, and West African Israeli Jews.
